Terms of Service

The agreement between you and 10X Systems Inc. for use of the 10X Connect platform.

Effective date: June 20, 2026 · Last updated: June 20, 2026

Plain-English summary. You use 10X Connect to view and triage your QuickBooks bookkeeping with your accountant. You authorize us to access your QuickBooks data via Intuit's standard OAuth flow. We protect that data, you can disconnect anytime, and either of us can end the relationship without penalty. The full legal text below covers the edge cases.

1 · Acceptance

By creating an account, signing in, or connecting QuickBooks to 10X Connect (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service. If you're agreeing on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company.

2 · The Service

10X Connect is a software-as-a-service platform operated by 10X Systems Inc., a Delaware corporation doing business as The 10X Accountant. The Service provides:

The Service is delivered as-is and we may add, change, or remove features. We'll give registered users advance notice of material removals.

3 · Your account

3.1 · Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to enter into this agreement.

3.2 · Account security

You are responsible for safeguarding your password and TOTP authenticator device. Notify us immediately at security@the10xaccountant.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

3.3 · One account per person

Don't share login credentials. If multiple people in your company need access, request additional invites through the Team module.

4 · QuickBooks connection

4.1 · How it works

When you connect QuickBooks to 10X Connect, Intuit's OAuth 2.0 consent flow runs in your browser. You're shown exactly what 10X Connect is requesting access to. By clicking "Connect" on Intuit's screen, you authorize us to read (and where you explicitly approve, write) data from the connected QuickBooks company file.

4.2 · Scope of access

We request the com.intuit.quickbooks.accounting scope, which gives read access to your books. We do not request access to your bank accounts, payroll details, or any data outside the accounting scope. We never see your Intuit username or password — those stay between you and Intuit.

4.3 · Disconnect anytime

You can revoke our access at any time:

Disconnection takes effect immediately and stops all data syncing. Existing cached data is deleted within 30 days unless you've also deleted your 10X Connect account.

5 · Your responsibilities

You agree NOT to:

6 · Fees and payment

10X Connect is provided to clients as part of their service agreement with The 10X Accountant. There are no separate platform fees — your access is included in your bookkeeping subscription.

If your service agreement with The 10X Accountant ends, your 10X Connect access ends with it. We'll give you 30 days to export any data you want to keep before deletion.

7 · Intellectual property

The 10X Connect software, brand, and content are owned by 10X Systems Inc. and protected by U.S. and international copyright law. We grant you a limited, non-transferable license to use the Service during your subscription period.

Your QuickBooks data and any data you input remains your property. We claim no ownership of customer data. We only use it to deliver the Service.

8 · Termination

9 · Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will detect every miscategorized transaction. 10X Connect is a tool that supports your accountant's work — it doesn't replace professional judgment.

10 · Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither 10X Systems Inc. nor its affiliates will be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us (directly or through The 10X Accountant subscription) in the 12 months before the claim arose, capped at US $1,000.

11 · Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify 10X Systems Inc. against claims arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your unauthorized handling of data belonging to a third party.

12 · Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois. You waive any objection to that venue.

13 · Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be emailed to registered users at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
